Georgian style villa New build three storey, five bedroom villa in the Georgian style. The client had key features in mind to include in the design and he sought to maximise the potential for a one off family home to replace the existing 1930s house on a lovely plot on the outskirts of the village.Establishing Georgian proportions on the principal façade drove the layout of the building and establishes its character. Internally the house has well proportioned rooms and uncluttered circulation space. The curved staircase is the focus of the spacious entrance hall; dormer windows in the attic allow for use of the second floor for further accommodation; and an open plan kitchen /dining / living space, flooded with light from bifold doors, forms the hub of the home.Externally, the building has a traditional appearance with a slate roof and overhanging eaves incorporating modest cornice detailing over rendered walls and plinth course. Windows are painted timber sash with narrow glazing bars in traditional style. Download project card (781 KB pdf)
