Medieval Manor This Grade I listed Manor House in a poor state of repair was extensively restored including new sustainable energy source, new mechanical and electrical installation, and a restoration of the fabric to retain many historic features. Jonathan Rhind Architects worked closely with the local authority conservation officer and Historic England to arrive at a design solution that respected the historic fabric whilst at the same time providing the functionality that the client required.A window in the parlour which had previously been covered at the top was carefully restored along with the decorative ceiling plasterwork accompanying it. A new Purbeck stone floor was installed in the Great Hall, and bespoke oak joinery and stonework repairs retain the historic character of the manor. Download project card (1.1 MB pdf)
