Barn Conversions - perspectives on space

With this barn conversion in North Devon we have been looking at how different furniture, kitchen and stair arrangements can organise the space and how we keep the character of a large barn whilst also providing more intimately scaled spaces for family living.

Barn conversions are great for providing lofty open plan spaces, and modern agricultural barns especially provide the ideal framework for double height reception / living rooms. Having worked on several similar scale barn conversions, experience tells us that it is crucial to organise the living space carefully, finding the right balance between grand spaces whilst still feeling homely.

In this project in the idyllic Devon countryside, the clients were keen to see some options for how to configure the main living space, to include; an open plan kitchen with large island, dining area, sitting area and separate first floor / mezzanine snug.

3D perspective views can give a fantastic idea of how the finished house will look and feel and can be useful when planning and designing your barn conversion.
